Each eukaryotic cell contains many organelles that function in their own way to help the cell, for example, the nucleous holds all the genetic matterial for the cell. The plasma membrane, sometimes simply called cell membrane, is the layer around the outside of the cell that allows only certain material in and out and the cell wall, only found in plants, is a more ridgid outer layer made of cellulose that gives the cell a rectangular shape. The cell also needs energy which can come in two forms, in animal cell it is the mitochondria and in plant cells it is the chloroplast which use sunlight to produce glucose. Another important part is protein synthesis which occures in the ribosomes. The storage for cells called the vacuoles, plant cells have one large vacuole which can also provide structure. The structure of these organelles usually determines the function, for example enzymes are a particular shape and size to preform a specific reaction.
Plant and Animal cells are very similar but there are a few main differences. For one plant cells are surrounded by a cell wall which gives it a more structured shape whereas animal cells are more shapeless. Animal cell also don't make their own food they have to get it from outside sources. But in the end they are both eukaryotic cells.
