1. Functions: nucleus - gives orders to organelle plasma membrane - lets things in and out of the cell. cell wall - gives structure and support mitochondria - creates energy vacuoles - storage chloroplasts - produce glucose for plant cells ribosomes - produces proteins 2. Plant and animal cells are different in a few ways. First, plant cells have a cell wall and a large central vacuole. Also, they have chloroplasts to create food and energy for them because they can't get up and go find food like animals can. 3. The structure of an organelle does affect the function of that organelle. If an organelle is large and hollow, it is probably used for storage. If it is ridged and curved, it could be used for delivering things to other parts of the cell. If it is small, it is probably used to produce something, either protein, or energy, or food. |
